Character Name: Ruby

Timeline: the end of season three, right after she gets trapped by Dean in the Devil's Trap in the last episode

Character Background: Prior to becoming a demon, Ruby was a witch, in, oh, about the 14th century, until she sold her soul to a demon named Tammi. She went to Hell, as all those who make deals do, and spent so long being tortured that she herself became a Demon. When the Winchester brothers opened the Devil's Gate at the end of season two, she clawed her way out of Hell and found herself a vessel.
After escaping, she made it a point to ally herself with the Winchesters, believing that Sam's abilities would make him the best leader of the great Demon Army. She earned his trust by promising him that she could save his brother, Dean from Hell by getting him out of his deal. This was a lie, of course, because there's no escaping a deal, but she did believe that the Winchesters would bring an end to Lilith-- a powerful demon in charge of making deals, whose death would result in Dean's deal being broken.
She helped them in multiple ways. First, by killing two demons that were about to kill Sam, and then afterward revealing that she knew who he was. (Word gets around in Hell, you know.) She drops hints to him, like telling him to research his mother's friends, and when he figures out they've all died, she tells him that she's a demon, and knows about his abilities. She offers him a deal: he learns more about his abilities, and she'll save Dean's soul from the demon.
Ruby again proved her worth by helping Bobby fix the Colt, the gun that killed Azazel, and that could definitely kill Lilith. She wasn't needed again until Sam and Dean found themselves in a town with a coven of witches and Tammi, the Demon who made Ruby's deal.
Abilities/Special Powers: List all the special types of non-normal things your character do. IE: The different powers of the Nobodies from KH, or Hiro Nakamura's ability to teleport and go into time.
